HDMI 2.0 bandwidth and cable-length limits

The switch supports 4K at 60 Hz and is backward compatible with 2K and 1080p signals. Maximum data rate is 3.4 Gbps. For reliable 4K video the supplier advises using standard HDMI 2.0 cables with a total run no longer than 3 metres.

Questions about this item

How do I decide between using this as a 2-in-1-out switch or a 1-in-2-out splitter?

It has three HDMI ports and a manual button; press it to toggle between two sources on one display or one source across two displays, though only one output works at a time.

What does the 4K@60Hz rating mean when I connect my console?

It supports 4K resolution at 60Hz and is backward compatible with 2K and 1080p, provided you use standard HDMI 2.0 cables no longer than 3 metres.

What does the 3.4Gbps bandwidth cap mean for my setup?

That bandwidth handles high-definition audio and video up to 4K@60Hz with reduced signal loss, but it does not support higher refresh rates or newer HDMI 2.1 features.
