Class 4 Gas Lift for Heavy Users

This Class 4 gas lift cylinder is built to BIFMA standards for heavy and tall individuals. It supports up to 450lbs and fits most office, executive, computer and gaming chairs as a universal replacement part.

8 Inch Stroke Height Range

The cylinder provides an 8 inch adjustable stroke from a compressed height of 14.5 inch to an extended height of 22.5 inch. This range determines the seat height limits achievable on the chair where it is installed.

450lbs Load Capacity Rating

The 450lbs rating is the single specification that decides suitability; users exceeding this weight require a different cylinder. It is not for buyers who need a higher load rating or a shorter stroke length.

Questions about this item

Should I pick this 8-inch stroke cylinder or a shorter one?

Choose the 8-inch stroke if your seat needs to travel from 14.5 inch compressed to 22.5 inch extended; shorter strokes will not reach the same high or low positions.

What does the 450lbs rating mean when I sit down?

The cylinder is tested to support up to 450lbs of static load, so it will hold a heavy or tall user through the full 8-inch height range without sagging.

Does the universal size fit a standard 50mm chair base?

Yes, the universal diameter fits most office, executive, computer and gaming chair bases, and the 360-degree swivel works through the full stroke.
