What this HDMI switch does

The BFKK HDMI Switch 2 in 1 Out 4K@60Hz Blue is a manual bidirectional hub with three HDMI ports. It lets you connect two sources to one display or one source to toggle between two displays. LED indicators show the active port, though only one output works at a time. No external power is needed, so it suits simple desktop or living-room setups.

Sustained 4K signal stability

The switch supports 4K at 60 Hz and is backward compatible with 2K and 1080p resolutions. It handles high-bandwidth 3.4 Gbps data transmission to keep audio and video stable during extended sessions. The supplier notes that standard HDMI 2.0 cables must be used and total cable length should not exceed 3 metres for reliable 4K performance.

Practical limits of the HDMI 2.0 interface

Bandwidth tops out at 3.4 Gbps, which restricts the switch to 4K at 60 Hz and lower resolutions. Only one of the two connected displays can be active at any moment, so simultaneous multi-monitor output is not possible. Buyers who need automatic switching, EDID management, or support for higher refresh rates at 4K will find this manual unit does not meet those needs.
