Verify Stem Diameter And Travel Before Buying

Measure the outer diameter of the old cylinder stem and the length of its stroke to confirm they match the 7.5 inch specification. Also check that the chair base and mechanism accept a universal tapered fit, because some brands use proprietary columns.

Questions about this item

Does the 7.5 in hydraulic cylinder come with the rubber mallet and pipe wrench shown in the installation steps?

The cylinder is supplied alone; the rubber mallet and pipe wrench needed to remove the old unit and fit the new one must be sourced separately.

The listing mentions SGS testing and BIFMA certification — does that cover the full 440 lbs rating?

Yes, the gas lift has passed SGS testing and holds BIFMA certification for a load capacity of up to 440 lbs.

How much height adjustment does the 7.5 in stroke actually give once the cylinder is fitted to a typical office chair?

The 7.5 in stroke provides up to 7.5 inches of vertical travel, letting the seat move through that full range once installed.
