Replacement Gas Cylinder

This BFKK gas cylinder replaces a worn office-chair lift. It fits chairs that accept a standard 2 inch outer diameter and 1.1 inch inner diameter. The 5.5 inch stroke restores full height adjustment so the seat can be raised or lowered smoothly.

When the Upgrade Is Worth It

Swap the old cylinder when the chair sinks under weight or the height lever no longer holds position. The 45# steel construction supports heavy loads and the 360 degree rotation stays smooth and noiseless. Minimum compressed length is 8.5 inches; fully extended it reaches 12.5 inches.

Build Fit and Clearance

Verify the chair base and mechanism accept the 2 inch outer cylinder before ordering. The unit mounts directly into the existing column hole and frees the seat to swivel through the full 360 degree range. No additional parts are required for installation.

Questions about this item

What cylinder diameters must my chair accept for this replacement to fit?

The outer cylinder measures 2 inches and the inner cylinder 1.1 inches; verify your chair matches these dimensions before ordering.

How do I install the gas cylinder and which step is commonly missed?

Remove the old cylinder from the base and seat mechanism, insert the new unit fully into both ends, then test the 5.5 inch stroke; the step often missed is ensuring the cylinder seats completely in the base taper.

When will the gas cylinder need replacement and what indicates wear?

Replace the cylinder when height adjustment over the 5.5 inch range becomes uneven or the chair sinks under load; the 45# steel construction resists fatigue but seals degrade with extended use.
