What this device does

The BFKK smoke detector camera records 1080P video and streams it to a phone over WiFi. It is designed for homeowners or renters who want covert indoor monitoring without installing a visible security system. The unit fits into a standard smoke detector housing and includes four infrared LEDs for low-light viewing.

When AP mode is the right choice

AP mode lets you watch live video within 49.2 feet without any WiFi network, which suits temporary setups or locations without internet access. Switch to P2P mode when you need remote viewing from anywhere, provided a 2.4 GHz WiFi signal reaches the device. The jump is worth it only if you must check footage while away from the premises.

Installation and common issues

Mount the unit like a regular smoke detector, then pair it with the app using the supplied instructions. A unique password prevents unauthorised access, and one phone can manage multiple cameras. The most frequent problems are weak 2.4 GHz signal at the mounting spot and forgetting to keep the device powered continuously.
