Falcon Decoy for Garden Pests

The Bird-X Falcon decoy is a plastic predator replica designed to discourage birds and small mammals from settling in outdoor areas. It targets species such as pigeons, crows, sparrows, rabbits and rodents. The unit stands 17 inches high with an 8 inch diameter and weighs 1.333 units. Its freestanding design allows placement on flat surfaces without additional hardware.

Silent Operation and Zero Power Draw

The decoy operates without any power source, moving parts or electronic components. It produces no noise and generates no heat during use. The gray and yellow plastic construction withstands normal outdoor exposure without requiring maintenance. Coverage extends to approximately 6 000 sq ft of open space around the unit.

Consistent Deterrence Under Continuous Exposure

The device maintains its visual presence regardless of weather or time of day because it relies solely on shape and colour rather than motion or sound. Effectiveness depends on target animals recognising the falcon silhouette as a threat. No performance degradation occurs during sustained outdoor deployment since there are no batteries to drain or mechanisms to wear out.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the 17 in falcon decoy so it actually moves in the wind?

Place the decoy on its freestanding base in an open spot where wind can reach it from multiple sides; the step people miss is leaving enough clearance around the 7 in diameter so the figure can pivot freely instead of catching on nearby plants or rails.

What upkeep does the plastic falcon need after months outdoors?

Rinse the gray and yellow plastic with water every few weeks to remove dust and bird droppings that dull the colors, and check that the freestanding base has not cracked from freeze-thaw cycles.

At what point does the 6,000 sq ft coverage stop working during constant exposure?

Birds typically habituate to a stationary predator shape within a few weeks, so the practical limit is how often you relocate the 1.333 lb decoy to a new position around the property.
