Plays cassettes, AM/FM/SW radio, BT, SD and USB with recording and a 3.5mm headphone jack
The BJL-659 is a playback-only cassette player that also receives AM, FM and shortwave broadcasts. Bluetooth connectivity lets you stream audio from a smartphone, while USB and SD slots play digital files. A 3.5mm headphone jack provides private listening for home or travel use.
The unit ships with an AC power adapter for continuous mains operation and also runs on four D-cell batteries for portable use. A voltage selector inside the battery compartment switches between 110V and 220V to match local mains voltage. No fan or active cooling is present, so operation is silent apart from tape mechanism noise.
The built-in recording function captures AM, FM or shortwave broadcasts onto a blank tape, creating personal mixtapes without extra equipment. An extendable antenna improves radio reception stability. The carry handle and 1.17kg weight make the boombox easy to move between rooms or outdoors.

Open the back battery door, locate the small 110/220 switch in the lower-left corner, and slide it to 110 using a toothpick or paperclip before closing the door.
The drive belts and pinch roller inside the cassette deck wear over time and may need replacement; the four D-cell batteries used for portable operation also require periodic replacement.
Distortion typically appears first when the voltage selector is left on 220 while running on 110 mains, or when the D-cells are depleted and can no longer supply enough current for peak output.
