range USB KVM extender kit

This kit places a keyboard, monitor and mouse up to 75 feet from the host computer or KVM switch. It uses inexpensive Category 5 UTP cable between the computer unit and the console unit. The package includes both units, a 9 VDC 600 mA power adapter, foot pads and a KVM cable. A PS/2 version is also offered.

Category 5 UTP distance limit

Signal reach is capped at 75 feet (22.8 m) over the Category 5 link. Hotkey adjustment compensates video quality for any cable length within that bound. An LED indicator shows link status and a beep confirms keyboard control. No longer runs are supported by this model.

Two-box design with external power

Separate computer and console boxes each need desk or rack space and the included 9 VDC adapter must reach a mains socket. The supplied KVM cable uses a 2-to-1 or 3-to-1 connector (EHN70001-0006 or EHN9000U-0006) to join video, keyboard and mouse leads. Buyers who need longer reach or fibre-based extension will need a different product class.
