RS-232 null-modem cable for serial links

This six-foot shielded cable carries RS-232 signals between two DB9 female ports with a null-modem crossover. Metal hoods protect the connectors from mechanical stress and EMI. It suits technicians and integrators who need a reliable direct serial link without gender changers.

Lifetime-warranted six-foot reach

The 6 ft length covers typical bench or rack distances while the shielding preserves signal integrity on the 232 interface. Runs out when the installation demands a longer run or a different connector gender such as DB9 male or DB25.

Questions about this item

Will the 6 ft cable reach between a DB9 female RS-232 port on my legacy server and a nearby switch?

The 6 ft length gives you up to six feet of separation between two DB9 female RS-232 ports, which suits most bench or rack-adjacent setups.

How can I verify the null-modem wiring is correct after I connect the two DB9 female ends?

Open a terminal session on both connected devices; if data typed on one appears on the other without a separate modem, the RS-232 null-modem cable is functioning as intended.
