An orange CAT5e keystone jack with phosphor-bronze IDC contacts, gold-plated nose contacts and dual T568A/B labelling for 100 MHz data rates
The Black Box Corporation FMT926-R2 is an unshielded keystone jack coloured orange for quick visual identification in patch panels or wall plates. It accepts universal wiring and is labelled for both T568A and T568B schemes. IDC contacts use phosphor bronze with tin plating, while nose contacts carry 50-micron gold over 100-micron nickel. A 110 punch-down tool completes termination, and a retention stuffer cap adds strain relief.
Installers terminating CAT5e runs in offices, classrooms or home networks will find the high-density footprint useful where port count matters. The jack is backward compatible with CAT5 and CAT3 components, so it fits into existing plant without a full recable. Buyers who need shielded connectors for noisy environments or CAT6 and higher bandwidth should look at a different product line.
The standard sets the transmission ceiling at 100 MHz, which is the single figure that determines whether this jack matches the required link class. If the design calls for a higher frequency rating, this part will not meet the specification.

The jack uses a standard keystone footprint, so it fits any keystone-style wall plate, surface-mount box or patch panel with the rectangular snap-in opening.
Use a 110 tool to terminate the conductors; the step often missed is pressing the retention stuffer cap down fully to lock the wires and provide strain relief.
Replace it if the 50-micron gold nose contacts are bent or corroded, or if the phosphor-bronze IDC blades no longer hold wires securely after a re-punch.
