Red Category 5e bulk cable

This 1000 ft red Category 5e bulk cable is supplied as bare wire on both ends for custom termination. It suits installers and network builders who pull their own runs and terminate on site. The red jacket helps identify the circuit in multi-cable bundles. Buyers needing pre-terminated patch cords or a different category should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and power draw

As a passive copper cable it generates no heat, produces no noise and draws no power during normal operation. Performance depends entirely on the quality of the connectors and termination work performed by the installer. No active components are present to affect thermal or acoustic behaviour.

550 MHz bandwidth rating

The cable is rated for 550 MHz bandwidth, which determines the maximum frequency the link can support. This single figure decides whether the cable meets the performance requirements of a given installation. Verify that the specification matches the design criteria before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I pull the 1000 ft red cable through conduit without kinking the bare wire ends?

Unreel the 1000 ft length slowly from the box centre, keep the bend radius wide, and secure both bare wire ends with tape before pulling so the conductors do not snag on conduit edges.

What maintenance does the red Category 5e bulk cable need after installation?

Inspect the red jacket annually for abrasion or UV damage; the bare wire ends require re-termination if corrosion appears on the exposed copper after long-term exposure.

At what frequency does the 550 MHz rated cable hit its performance limit during sustained gigabit traffic?

The 550 MHz bandwidth ceiling is reached first under continuous high-throughput loads, limiting headroom for alien crosstalk margins above the 100 MHz Category 5e baseline.
