Secure KVM Isolator for DisplayPort CAC

The Black Box Secure KVM Peripheral Defender is a single-port DisplayPort switch with CAC support. It isolates the connected computer from peripheral signals to meet NIAP 4 security requirements. Government and defence users who need assured separation between classified and unclassified networks will deploy this device.

Verify DisplayPort video

Confirm that the source system provides a DisplayPort output and that the smart-card reader you intend to use presents a standard USB interface. The included 12 VDC wall-mount supply (ICP36-120-3000) ships with US, EU, UK and AU adapter clips for international power sockets. Four rubber feet are pre-attached for desktop stability.

Low thermal load and silent operation

The unit draws power only from the external 12 VDC adapter, so it adds negligible heat to a rack or desk. No internal fans are present, resulting in completely silent operation during normal use. Power consumption remains minimal, leaving the host system’s thermal envelope unaffected.

Questions about this item

Does the KVS48001VX come with a power supply and cables, or must I buy them separately?

The package includes a 12 VDC wall-mount supply with US, EU, UK and AU adapter clips, a set of four rubber feet already attached, and a Quick Start Guide.

Is the KVS48001VX available in multi-port or different DisplayPort versions?

The listed model is a single-port DisplayPort CAC isolator; no other port counts or video interfaces are offered for this SKU.

What does the NIAP 4 rating on the KVS48001VX actually protect when the switch is installed?

NIAP 4 certification means the isolator enforces hardware-enforced data-path separation for one DisplayPort video channel and CAC peripheral traffic, preventing signal leakage between the connected system and the peripheral.
