SKU CH-4HT1-NRJNM MPN LHC029AR4

Converts 10/100 copper Ethernet to 100 Mb single-mode fibre at 1550/1310 nm over 20 km with SC connectors

  • Extends network reach to 20 km with single-mode fibre
  • Converts 10/100 copper to 100 Mbps fibre links
  • Uses 1550/1310 nm wavelengths for bi-directional single-strand operation
  • SC connector provides secure, standardised fibre termination
  • Brand-new Black Box unit ready for immediate deployment

What this converter does

The Black Box LHC029AR4 converts a 10/100 copper Ethernet link to a 100 Mbps single-mode fibre connection. It uses 1550 nm and 1310 nm wavelengths to reach distances up to 20 km over SC-terminated cable.

What to verify before ordering

Confirm your copper side runs at 10 or 100 Mbps and that the fibre plant is single-mode with SC connectors. The link budget supports 20 km, so check that the total span including patch cords stays within that distance. Ensure both ends use matching 1550/1310 nm optics for bi-directional traffic.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This unit suits installers extending a Fast Ethernet segment over long single-mode fibre runs with SC patching. It does not serve networks that require Gigabit or 10 Gigabit speeds, multi-mode fibre, LC connectors, or distances beyond 20 km. Buyers needing managed features or redundant power should consider other models.

Questions about this item

Does the LHC029AR4 include a power supply or must I buy one separately?

The converter is a standalone unit; a compatible power supply is not included and must be sourced separately.

The model shows 1550/1310 nm wavelengths — which end uses which wavelength?

This unit transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm; the paired converter at the far end must use the opposite wavelengths.

How far will the 100 Mbps single-mode link actually reach over standard OS2 fibre?

The optical budget supports up to 20 km on OS2 single-mode fibre with SC connectors at 100 Mbps full duplex.
