Micro Mini Media Converter for USB-powered

The Black Box Corporation LMC400A is a micro mini media converter that bridges 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps copper links to 100 Mbps duplex fiber through an SFP slot. It tucks unobtrusively behind a PC and draws power from a USB port for portable use, while an included power adapter offers a fixed alternative. Plug-and-play operation with autonegotiation makes it suitable for quick network extensions without configuration.

Check power source and fiber compatibility before

Verify that a USB port or mains outlet is available at the install location to supply the converter. Confirm the existing fiber run uses duplex connectors and operates at 100 Mbps, as the unit does not support other fiber speeds. Ensure an SFP transceiver matching the fiber type is on hand, since the converter ships without one. Buyers needing higher fiber throughput or PoE pass-through should consider other solutions.
