  • Auto-negotiating copper port simplifies cabling with Auto MDI-X
  • LED indicators show active PoE power feed and power interruption status
  • Gigabit PoE media converter extends network reach over fibre
  • PoE PSE capability powers remote devices through Ethernet cable
  • New Black Box Innovations unit ready for professional video deployments

PoE Media Converter

The Black Box LPS500AMMLCR3 connects a 10/100/1000 copper link to a 1000Base-X fibre port while supplying Power over Ethernet. Network engineers use it to extend powered devices such as cameras or wireless points beyond standard copper reach.

Auto-Negotiation and LED Status

The copper port auto-negotiates speed and includes Auto MDI-X so crossover cables are unnecessary. Front-panel LEDs show when PoE power is active and alert operators if the power feed is interrupted.

Industrial and Campus Deployments

This unit suits installers who need a single-port PoE media converter for fibre uplinks in industrial or campus networks. Buyers requiring multi-port aggregation, managed switching features or non-PoE fibre conversion should look at other product lines.

Questions about this item

Does the copper port on the LPS500AMMLCR3 require manual speed configuration over time?

The copper port auto-negotiates speed and includes Auto MDI-X, so no manual reconfiguration is needed for cabling or speed changes.

What is the first limit reached when the converter runs at 1000 Mbps continuously?

The port speed caps at 1000 Mbps, so sustained throughput cannot exceed that rate regardless of traffic load.

How can I tell if the PoE power feed is still active after hours of operation?

Front LEDs show when the unit is supplying PoE power and also flag any power interruption immediately.
