Serial extension cable with EMI/RFI shielding

This 20 ft RS-232 cable extends the reach between DB-9 serial ports. It features a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other. Metal hoods provide shielding against electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. The beige cable suits industrial and office installations.

Who should use this cable

It suits technicians extending legacy serial links for modems, industrial controllers or point-of-sale equipment. The lifetime warranty supports long-term deployments. Buyers needing a null-modem crossover or a different connector gender should look at other cable types.

The 20 ft length decides fit

Measure the exact distance between your two DB-9 ports before ordering. A cable that is too short will not connect; excess length adds clutter and potential signal degradation. This specific length is the critical specification for a successful installation.

Questions about this item

Does the 20 ft serial cable need any periodic maintenance or connector replacement?

The cable has no moving parts and the DB9 connectors are rated for the lifetime warranty period, so no scheduled replacement is required.

What is the first limitation you hit when running RS-232 signals continuously through the 20 ft extension?

The RS-232 interface and 20 ft length set the practical distance limit before signal degradation can appear.

How much heat or noise does the shielded DB9 extension produce during all-day operation?

The passive cable generates no heat and makes no noise; the metal-hood shielding only blocks external EMI/RFI.
