Media converter delivers up to 30 W PoE+ over copper while linking 10/100/1000 BASE-T to SFP fiber with Link Loss Forwarding
The Black Box LPS535A-SFP acts as power sourcing equipment to deliver up to 30 watts over copper cabling. It transparently connects fiber to copper for PoE+ devices such as PTZ cameras, access points and VoIP phones. Smart plug-and-play installation adds endpoints without network reconfiguration.
This converter replaces a standard fiber-to-copper link that cannot supply power to remote equipment. The jump is worth it when you need to deploy powered devices beyond the reach of a mains outlet and want a single cable for both data and up to 30 watts. It supports 802.3 af/at compliant endpoints without additional injectors.
The copper port operates at 10/100/1000 BASE-T with full-duplex auto-MDI/MDI-X and auto-negotiation. The SFP slot accepts multimode or single-mode 1000BASE-X modules for fiber uplinks. The unit requires an external AC adapter supplying 47 to 57 volts input and includes Link Loss Forwarding plus Link Fault Pass-Through for diagnostics.
