The Black Box SS8P-SH-DP-U lets one operator control eight DisplayPort computers from a single console using one keyboard, one mouse and one monitor. It is built for government, defence, finance, healthcare and other environments where data isolation between ports is mandatory. NIAP Protection Profile v. 3.0 certification confirms the design meets strict peripheral-switching security requirements.

Verify console and cabling before ordering

Your console monitor must accept a DisplayPort input at 3840x2160 resolution. The switch provides one DisplayPort output, two USB-A ports for keyboard and mouse, and one audio jack. Each of the eight target computers needs a DisplayPort video cable, a USB-B cable and an audio cable, all supplied separately. The unit requires a 100-240 VAC external power adapter delivering 12 VDC at 2 A.

Sustained operation within rated thermal limits

The chassis is rated for continuous use between 32 and 104 °F with humidity up to 80 percent non-condensing.
