Capture Card with Four HDMI 2.0b Inputs

The Blackmagic Design DeckLink Quad HDMI is a PCIe capture card that accepts four independent HDMI 2.0b sources simultaneously. It targets live-production teams, broadcasters and streaming operators who need to ingest multiple cameras or graphics feeds into a single workstation. Each input appears to the host as a separate capture device, allowing parallel recording or streaming workflows.

Suited For

The card suits operators who require four discrete HDMI captures at up to 4K60 in 8- or 10-bit YUV 4:2:2, or up to 4Kp30 DCI in 8-, 10- and 12-bit RGB 4:4:4. It also serves developers using the Desktop Video SDK to route specific channels to different applications such as OBS, vMix or Wirecast. Builders without a free PCI Express 8-lane generation 3 slot, or who must capture HDCP-protected sources, should look elsewhere.

PCIe 8-Lane Gen 3 Requirement

The card demands an 8-lane PCI Express generation 3 connection and is compatible with 8- and 16-lane slots on macOS, Windows and Linux. This interface delivers up to 32 Gb per second of bandwidth, which determines whether the host can sustain four concurrent 4K streams without frame drops. Verify the motherboard slot configuration before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the DeckLink Quad HDMI into a PCIe slot, and what slot width mistake do builders make?

Insert the card into an 8-lane or 16-lane PCI Express generation 3 slot; the common error is using a 4-lane slot which cannot supply the required bandwidth.

What maintenance or replacement will the four HDMI 2.0b inputs need over time?

The HDMI ports are passive connectors with no moving parts; they require no scheduled maintenance and only need replacement if physically damaged.

Which limit appears first when capturing four 4K60 streams continuously?

The PCIe 8-lane generation 3 ceiling of 32 Gb per second is reached before any other bottleneck when all four inputs run at maximum bit-depth and frame rate.
