The Blackmagic Design DeckLink Quad 2 is an 8-lane PCIe capture and playback card that provides eight independently configurable 12-bit SD/HD/3G-SDI connectors. It targets broadcast engineers and post-production facilities that need multiple simultaneous ingest or playout streams up to 1080p60.

Fits a PCIe x8 or x16 slot

The card installs in an 8-lane generation 2 PCI Express slot and draws 22 watts, so it works in most workstation chassis without extra power cables. Each port can be set as input or output on a different video standard, freeing the system from external converters and letting a single slot handle up to 16 channels of embedded audio per direction.

Suits multi-channel SD/HD workflows

This card suits teams capturing or playing out multiple 1080p streams in ProRes, DNxHD, AVC-Intra or uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 colour. It does not address 4K or 12G-SDI requirements, so facilities moving to higher resolutions or single-cable UHD should look at different I/O hardware.
