Converts HDMI to 12G-SDI with SD, HD and 4K format support, balanced XLR audio embedding and SMPTE-compliant video rates
The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini CONVNTRM/AB/HSDI converts HDMI sources to SDI output up to 12G rates. It handles SD, HD and Ultra HD formats including 3840 x 2160p60 and 4096 x 2160p60. Professional users gain a compact path from consumer HDMI 2.0 gear into broadcast SDI workflows.
The unit fits a 1.75-inch half-rack space and runs from a built-in 90-240 V AC supply drawing 15 W. Two XLR inputs accept balanced analog audio or timecode on the right channel, while a separate AES/EBU XLR output carries four channels of digital audio. Control is via mini switches, USB or Ethernet using the free utility, with an optional front Smart Panel.
Earlier converters often stop at 3G-SDI and cannot pass 4K 60p signals. This model adds 6G and 12G-SDI switching, up-conversion from HD to Ultra HD, and embedded audio from analog or AES sources. It is not for buyers who need SDI-to-HDMI conversion or multi-channel HDMI switching.

The SDI output automatically matches the input, so a 2160p60 HDMI signal is converted to 12G-SDI at 3840 x 2160p60.
The built-in 90 – 240 V AC supply dissipates 15 W, so the chassis runs warm but uses passive cooling only.
You need an HDMI 2.0 type A cable for video, a BNC cable for the 12G-SDI output, and two XLR cables for the balanced analog audio inputs.
