Frame dimensions and purpose

The Boardwalk 1224 clip-on dust mop frame measures 24 inches wide by 3.25 inches deep. It is built from rust-resistant 1/4-inch steel wire with a black powder-coat finish and rounded ends. The frame holds a 24-inch dust mop head flat against bare floors such as hardwood, laminate, tile and marble. Mop head and clip-on handle are sold separately.

Clip-on handle interface

The frame accepts a clip-on handle that attaches without tools and is sold as a separate item. No threaded or bolt-on connection is provided, so only compatible clip-on handles will work. The rounded wire ends reduce the chance of snagging on floor transitions or baseboards during use. This design limits the frame to handles that match the clip-on specification.

Coverage and compatibility

A single frame covers a 24 by 3.25 inch cleaning path, suited to open areas and long corridors. It is listed for use with Boardwalk 1490 and 1024 mop heads; other sizes will not fit the frame width. The steel wire construction resists bending under normal pressure but is not rated for heavy scrubbing or wet mopping. Buyers needing wider coverage or a different attachment style will need another frame model.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 24-inch frame or the 3.25-inch depth for my dust mop?

The frame is a single unit measuring 24 inches wide by 3.25 inches deep, so you do not choose between them — both dimensions define the same model 1224.

What does the 24-inch width mean when the frame is on the floor?

It gives a 24-inch cleaning path, keeping the mop head flat across hardwood, laminate, tile or marble for maximum surface contact.

How does the clip-on interface work with Boardwalk handles 1490 and 1024?

The frame accepts a clip-on handle sold separately; models 1490 and 1024 snap onto the rounded wire ends to secure the mop during use.
