Paper Food Baskets for Takeout Service

Boardwalk paper food baskets provide a moisture-resistant clay-coated paperboard tray for single-serve meals. The 1 lb capacity suits restaurants, cafeterias, food trucks and catering operations. A classic red and white design fits a variety of disposable dining needs. Each carton contains 1000 trays for high-volume service.

Upgrade from Basic Foam or Plastic Trays

These compostable paperboard trays replace non-compostable foam or plastic alternatives in commercial kitchens. The switch is worth it when local regulations require compostable packaging or when a business wants CMA-approved containers. Water-based, low-VOC inks reduce chemical exposure compared to standard printed disposables. They are not suited for operations needing hinged lids or vented steam release.

Sustained Use in Commercial Food Prep

The sturdy paperboard construction with high walls resists moisture and prevents spills during extended holding periods. Trays maintain structural integrity under the weight of hot or saucy foods without sagging. Compostability is certified for commercial facilities only, so waste streams must match that pathway. The 3.53 by 5.16 inch footprint stacks efficiently on prep lines and in storage.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of each 1 lb paper tray?

Each tray measures 3.53 inches wide, 5.16 inches deep, and 1.5 inches high with a single compartment design.

How do I properly load these baskets to avoid spills during service?

Fill contents below the 1.5-inch wall height; the moisture-resistant clay coating handles sauces but overfilling past the rim causes spills.

Where should I send used baskets for proper composting?

These CMA-approved baskets require a commercial composting facility; they will not break down in home compost or standard landfill conditions.
