Bogen MC2626B Multicom 2000 Power Supply

This unregulated linear power supply delivers nominal +26V and -26V at 4.0A from a 120V AC source. It is designed for installers and technicians powering Bogen Multicom 2000 communication systems. Buyers needing regulated output or different voltage rails should select another unit.

Thermals noise and power draw

The supply draws a maximum of 230W from the mains during operation. As a linear design with no active cooling fan, it runs silently but dissipates heat through its chassis. Adequate ventilation space is required to maintain safe operating temperatures.

Questions about this item

How is the MC2626B mounted inside the Multicom 2000 chassis and which connector orientation is often reversed?

Slide the unit into the dedicated bay until the rear edge seats firmly, then tighten the two captive screws; the 120 V AC inlet faces the rear panel, and installers sometimes insert it backwards, leaving the mains plug inaccessible.

What component typically requires replacement first on this unregulated linear supply and what symptom signals it?

The internal filter capacitors age over time; when the nominal ±26 V rails drift or ripple increases under the 4.0 A load, the caps should be swapped to restore stable output.
