Day & Night Camera for Raspberry Pi
This 5 MP OV5647 camera module connects to Raspberry Pi boards via the dedicated CSI bus and includes two infrared LEDs plus an automatic IR-cut filter that switches between day and night modes without user intervention. It targets hobbyists and educators who need continuous monitoring or OctoPrint time-lapse capture on a Pi 2B, 3B, 3B+ or 4B.
CSI bandwidth and resolution limits
The CSI interface carries 5 megapixel data at up to 1080p 30 fps or 720p 60 fps, while OctoPrint streaming is supported at 640 x 480 resolution up to 90 fps. Still captures reach 2592 x 1944 pixels, but higher frame rates or resolutions beyond those listed are not supported by the sensor or the bus.
Check CSI port and GPIO power before ordering
Verify that your Raspberry Pi model has an available CSI connector and that the ribbon cable orientation matches the board layout. The infrared LEDs require a GPIO power connection so they illuminate only when the camera is active; without that wiring the LEDs may stay on continuously or not function at all.
