Single-DIN touchscreen radio

The BOSS AUDIO EKAT-101 fits a standard single-DIN dashboard opening and adds a 10.1 inch IPS display that rotates up to 30 degrees. It supports wired and wireless CarPlay plus Android Auto so drivers can access navigation, music and messages hands-free. A backup camera and microphone are included in the box.

Thermals noise and power draw

The unit draws power from the vehicle 12 V system and runs a 1080P HD screen with no active cooling fan. Normal operation stays silent and the screen brightness is adjustable for day or night driving. No additional power supply or thermal management is required.

Build quality and connectors

The chassis measures 14.33in wide by 12.83in high by 9.06in deep with a 178 mm by 50 mm installation cutout. Steering-wheel control learning lets factory buttons work with the head unit. Rear-view camera input triggers automatically when reverse gear is selected.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the 10.1 inch screen in a single-DIN opening and which adjustment step is often missed?

The chassis fits a 178 mm by 50 mm cut-out. After securing the unit, rotate the screen to the desired angle and tighten the hinge bolts; many installers forget this final tightening, so the display shifts under vibration.

What components will need replacement after extended use?

The included backup camera and external microphone are the only accessories subject to wear; the camera lens can fog or scratch and the mic capsule may degrade, so plan to swap them if image or voice quality drops.

What is the first limitation that appears during long drives with the screen tilted?

The hinge allows 30 degrees of tilt; beyond that the lock disengages and the screen wobbles, so the mechanical range is the practical limit for a fixed viewing angle.
