What this shelf set is for

These two floating shelves are made from engineered wood with a dark finish and a white face. They suit bedrooms, nurseries, living rooms, bathrooms and kitchens where a narrow ledge is wanted for pictures, small plants or lightweight collectibles. The front lip helps keep items from sliding off. They are not for buyers who need deep storage or heavy-duty load capacity.

Weight limit and depth

Each shelf is rated to hold up to 20 lbs and measures 5.1 in deep by 15.74 in wide by 1.8 in high. The lip adds a small barrier along the front edge. If your display pieces exceed the weight rating or require more depth than 5.1 in, this set will not be suitable.

Mounting and common issues

All mounting hardware and instructions are included for a straightforward wall installation. The shelves weigh 1.146 kg in total, so standard drywall anchors are usually adequate when fixed into studs. The most frequent problem is using anchors that are too light for the rated load, which can cause the shelf to pull away from the wall.
