Replacement Lamp for Mitsubishi Projectors

The BOXLIGHT GX318 module supplies a 180 W P-VIP bulb pre-fitted in its housing, matching the Mitsubishi VLT-XD221LP specification. It is intended for technicians or AV managers who need a drop-in replacement without separate bulb handling.

Dual-Mode Lamp Life Under Continuous Use

In normal operation the lamp is rated for 3000 hours, while economy mode extends the rating to 4000 hours. The two figures reflect sustained output stability rather than a short-burst peak, so scheduling can be planned around the chosen brightness setting.

OEM-Grade Housing and Quality Assurance

Each unit is assembled to ISO 9001 standards using bulbs from Osram, Philips, Ushio or equivalent OEM sources, and is tested for ignition, voltage, beam performance and run-time. The complete housing ensures correct alignment and connector fit during installation.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power does the 180W P-VIP lamp generate during all-day use?

The lamp draws 180 watts, so it produces significant heat and requires the projector's cooling system to run continuously; the P-VIP bulb is rated for 3000 hours in normal mode or 4000 hours in economy mode.

Which Mitsubishi projector models accept the GX318 lamp with the VLT-XD221LP housing?

This module is built for Mitsubishi projectors that specify the VLT-XD221LP part number; verify your projector's service manual lists GX318 or VLT-XD221LP before ordering.

Will the GX318 lamp work in an older Mitsubishi projector that originally used a lower-wattage module?

The lamp is a direct replacement for the GX318 / VLT-XD221LP specification only; it is not interchangeable with modules of different wattage or housing design.
