Spill Kit for 15 gal Absorption

The Brady SKA-CFB is a filled spill response kit rated to absorb up to 15 gallons of universal fluids. It ships in a clear/yellow polyethylene bag containing sorbent pads, socks, a pillow, nitrile gloves, goggles, disposal bags and an instruction sheet. The kit meets EPA 40 CFR 112.7(c)(1)(vii) and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(j)(1)(vii) standards. It is designed for immediate deployment in industrial or commercial settings.

Suits Facilities Needing 15 gal Response

This kit suits workplaces that require a grab-and-go solution for spills up to 15 gallons and prefer bagged storage over a drum. Operations facing larger-volume incidents or needing an overpack drum for UN-rated shipping should evaluate higher-capacity kits. Sites with fluid-specific hazards such as aggressive chemicals may need compatible absorbents.

Absorption Capacity Decides Fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 15 gallon absorption rating per kit. If your spill risk assessment calls for containing more than 15 gallons in a single event, this unit will not provide enough sorbent material. Match the kit capacity to your maximum credible spill volume.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the 15-gal spill kit so the socks contain the spill before I lay the 32 pads?

Open the clear/yellow polyethylene bag, place the five 48-inch sorbent socks around the leak to form a barrier, then cover the area with the 15-by-19-inch pads and use the pillow for any pooled liquid.

Which items in the kit must be replaced after a single use and which can stay?

All 32 pads, five socks, one pillow, two disposal bags, the nitrile gloves and the goggles are single-use; only the instruction sheet and the empty polyethylene bag can be kept for the next refill.

At what point does the kit stop absorbing during a large, continuous leak?

The absorbents are rated for up to 15 gal total; once the combined uptake of the pads, socks and pillow reaches that volume they saturate and fluid will bypass the barrier.
