What the cable is

The Brainwavz A1 Upgraded is a detachable earphone cable built with four monocrystalline copper cores. Each core contains 48 wires to reduce signal distortion. It terminates in a 3.5 mm plug and uses a 2-pin 0.78 mm connector for the earpieces. A PVC jacket provides flexibility and helps minimise touch noise during movement.

Who it suits

This cable suits listeners who own in-ear monitors with a 2-pin 0.78 mm socket and want a 3.5 mm source connection. Buyers needing a 4.4 mm balanced plug or an MMCX connector should look at other options. It is not for headphones that use proprietary or fixed cables.

Capacity and headroom

The four-core geometry with 48 wires per core provides ample conductor cross-section for typical portable audio signals. The PVC sheath handles daily coiling and pocket storage without stiffening. The 3.5 mm termination limits use to single-ended outputs; balanced 4.4 mm sources require a different cable.

Questions about this item

Which earphones use the .78 mm 2-pin connector on this cable?

Any in-ear monitor with a standard 0.78 mm 2-pin socket will connect directly.

Can I keep my 3.5 mm source and still use the 4.4 mm plug option?

Only if your player has a 4.4 mm balanced output; the 3.5 mm plug is the matching single-ended version.

How do I confirm the four-core monocrystalline copper build is performing?

Listen for reduced microphonics from the PVC sheath and a smooth frequency transition without added distortion.
