Capacity and colour

The Breville Oracle Touch BES990DBL is a 4.2 lb espresso machine finished in Damson Blue. It combines a dual-boiler design with an integrated conical burr grinder for home baristas who want café-style drinks without separate appliances.

Thermals noise and power

Dual boilers allow simultaneous extraction and steaming while digital temperature control keeps water at a precise set point. The over-pressure valve caps pump pressure during the shot and low-pressure pre-infusion gently expands the grounds for even extraction.

Sustained load behaviour

The dedicated steam boiler powers an automatic, self-cleaning wand that textures milk to a consistent microfoam for multiple drinks in a row. The integrated grinder doses and tamps 22 grams per shot so repeat pulls stay repeatable without manual intervention.

Questions about this item

How is the integrated conical burr grinder calibrated during first setup?

The grinder automatically doses and tamps 22 grams of coffee; the step people miss is running a few test shots to dial in the grind size for their beans before locking the setting.

Which parts need periodic replacement on the Oracle Touch?

The conical burrs wear over time and should be swapped when grind consistency drops; the water filter cartridge also requires regular changing to protect the dual boiler.

What limits back-to-back drink production on this machine?

The dedicated steam boiler handles milk texturing while the brew boiler maintains PID temperature, so the practical limit is the 22-gram dose cycle rather than thermal recovery.
