What this grinder does

The Breville Silent Vortex is a blade coffee grinder with a 240-watt motor and an 11-cup bean capacity. Patented Vortex Spin technology and an oval chamber shape are designed to reduce noise to roughly one-eighth of a conventional grinder. The removable stainless-steel bowl and lid are dishwasher safe for simple cleanup.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

Households wanting quiet, one-touch grinding for coffee, peppercorns or dry herbs will appreciate the low noise and fast operation. Buyers who need precise, repeatable particle size for espresso or who prefer a burr mechanism for uniform extraction should consider a different style of grinder.

Check before ordering

Verify that the 5.35 by 10.47 by 10.67-inch footprint fits your countertop or storage space. Confirm the bowl’s 12-cup ground-coffee yield matches your typical batch size. Ensure a standard mains outlet is available for the 240-watt appliance.
