Brocade 4 Gbps SFP transceiver for long-haul links

This Brocade SFP transceiver delivers a 4 Gbps data rate over single-mode fibre at a 1310 nm wavelength. It supports link distances up to 4 km and is built for Fibre Channel environments that require reliable long-wavelength connectivity. The hot-pluggable design allows insertion or removal without powering down the host switch or router.

Hot-pluggable SFP installation avoids downtime

The module slides into any compatible SFP cage and locks with a bail latch, requiring no tools or software configuration. Clean the fibre end-faces before connecting LC patch cords to prevent signal loss from contamination. Verify that the host port is rated for 4 Gbps Fibre Channel and that the link budget matches the 4 km reach; mismatched speeds or excessive attenuation are the most common causes of link failure.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Brocade 57-1000014-01 SFP transceiver is operating correctly after installation?

Check the switch port status for a solid link light and verify the interface registers a 4 Gbps connection with no receive errors at the 1310nm wavelength.

What is included with the Brocade 57-1000014-01 transceiver and what must be purchased separately?

The hot-pluggable SFP+ module ships alone; LC duplex fibre patch cables rated for 1310nm single-mode operation up to 4 km must be sourced separately.
