Dual-port 4 Gbit/s Fibre Channel HBA with PCI Express 2.0 interface and low-profile MD2 form factor
The Brocade BR-425-0010 is a dual-port Fibre Channel host bus adapter that delivers 4 Gbit/s data transfer per port. It uses a PCI Express 2.0 host interface and a low-profile MD2 form factor. The card targets IT teams deploying or expanding storage-area-network connectivity in enterprise servers.
Before ordering, confirm the server has an available PCI Express 2.0 slot that accepts a low-profile MD2 card. The adapter requires multi-mode optical fibre patch cables with standard FC connectors for each of its two ports. Ensure the existing SAN fabric operates at 4 Gbit/s to match the adapter speed.
The card measures 6.6 inches by 2.7 inches and ships with a low-profile bracket suited for dense rack-mount chassis. Its RoHS certification confirms restricted-substance compliance for regulated environments. Dual FC ports on a single bracket simplify cable routing and reduce the number of occupied expansion slots in the server.

The adapter has two multi-mode FC ports that accept standard SFP modules; transceivers and fibre patch cables are not included and must be sourced separately.
This model provides two ports on one low-profile MD2 card, allowing dual-fabric redundancy without occupying a second PCI Express 2.0 slot.
The 4Gbit/s line rate sets the maximum link speed per port; real-world throughput depends on the storage array, drivers and workload, but cannot exceed the 4Gbit/s Fibre Channel specification.
