Compact monochrome all-in-one

The Brother DCP-L2640DW is a wireless monochrome laser multifunction printer that prints, scans and copies. It suits small offices or home workspaces that need reliable document output without colour capability.

36 ppm print speed with 250-sheet tray

Black output reaches up to 36 pages per minute and the standard tray holds 250 sheets. A 50-sheet automatic document feeder handles multi-page scan and copy jobs, while a manual feed slot accepts single envelopes or labels. The 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution covers crisp text and simple graphics, but high-volume colour work is outside its scope.

Wireless, Ethernet and USB 2.0 connectivity

The unit measures 15.7 by 16.1 by 12.5 inches and fits on a desktop or shelf. Built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet let multiple users print from laptops or phones, while USB 2.0 provides a direct link. Automatic duplex printing cuts paper use, yet the printer lacks a second paper drawer or large-format support beyond 8.5 by 14 inches.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 2.0 port on this DCP-L2640DW work with the USB 2.0 cable from my older laptop?

Yes, the printer includes a USB 2.0 port that is backward compatible with standard USB 2.0 cables and older laptop ports.

How can I confirm the DCP-L2640DW is printing at the rated 36 ppm after I set it up?

Print a multi-page document and time the output; the printer is rated for up to 36 pages per minute for black-and-white laser printing.

Does the box include a starter toner cartridge and a USB cable, or do I need to buy TN830 and a cable separately?

The printer ships with a starter toner cartridge; a USB cable is not included and must be purchased separately if you plan to use the USB 2.0 connection.
