Product Identity

The Brother MFC-8500 is a desktop laser multifunction centre built for small-office document workflows. It prints, copies, scans and faxes in monochrome on plain paper, envelopes, transparencies and labels. Buyers who need colour output or wireless networking will not find those capabilities here.

Print Speed and Resolution

The single specification that decides fit is the 15 page per minute monochrome print speed paired with 600 x 600 dpi maximum resolution. This throughput suits light daily volumes but will not keep pace with heavier departmental demand.

Thermals Noise and Power

The unit runs on 110 V AC mains power and uses a sheet-fed mechanism for scanning and copying. Normal operation produces typical laser-printer warmth and moderate mechanical noise from the paper path. No liquid cooling or active fan details are provided.

Questions about this item

How long does a typical job take once the 15 ppm engine is printing?

At 15 pages per minute the printer produces roughly one page every four seconds after warm-up, so multi-page documents complete quickly.

Which ports are built in and what do they limit?

USB and parallel ports are included; parallel caps transfer speed for older PCs while USB handles modern connections.

What desk space and paper trays does the desktop unit need?

The desktop form factor holds a 250-sheet input tray and a 250-sheet output tray, so allow room for both paper paths.
