Mid-size workgroup laser all-in-one

The Brother MFC-L6900DW is a monochrome laser all-in-one built for mid-size workgroups with higher print volumes. It prints and copies at up to 52 ppm and supports a monthly duty cycle of 150000 pages. A 4.85" colour touchscreen provides menu navigation and up to 48 customised shortcuts. Gigabit Ethernet, wireless LAN, NFC and USB interfaces give flexible network and local connectivity.

Thermals noise and power draw

The printer operates from a 120 V AC supply using an internal AC power source. Laser printing produces warm output pages and moderate background noise during high-volume runs. No decibel ratings, fan specifications or idle power figures are supplied by the manufacturer. The unit is designed for continuous business use within its stated duty cycle.

Paper handling and shortcuts

A 520-sheet tray adjusts for letter or legal media and a 50-sheet multi-purpose tray handles envelopes or alternative media. Supported sizes include A4, A5, A6, letter, legal, executive, 3" x 5" and No. 10 envelopes. The touchscreen enables creation of up to 48 shortcuts for frequent scan, copy or fax tasks. Drivers are provided for Windows, macOS and Linux CUPS or LPD/LPRng environments.

Questions about this item

How do I install the MFC-L6900DW and what step do people often miss?

Connect the power cord to a 120 V AC outlet, link the Gigabit Ethernet cable or join the wireless network, then run the driver package for Windows 10 64-bit or macOS 10.11.x; the step many skip is enabling the NFC tap-to-print function on the phone before the first job.

What maintenance or replacement will the MFC-L6900DW need later?

The toner cartridge and drum unit are the primary consumables; the 520-sheet tray and 50-sheet multi-purpose tray feed rollers may also require cleaning or replacement after high-volume use.

What limit appears first during sustained printing on the MFC-L6900DW?

The monthly duty cycle of 150000 pages is the rated ceiling; exceeding it consistently can accelerate wear on the fuser and feed components.
