Business colour laser multifunction

The Brother MFC-L8730CDW is a 3-in-1 colour laser device that prints, copies and scans at up to 33 pages per minute in both mono and colour. A 3.5 inch colour touchscreen provides direct menu navigation, scan preview and up to 48 custom shortcuts for recurring workflows. Automatic duplex printing cuts paper consumption by default. ENERGY STAR certification and EPEAT Silver rating reflect the energy-efficient design.

Teams needing fast colour output

This model suits small to mid-size offices that want quick colour documents and one-touch scan routines without a dedicated IT administrator. The compact footprint saves desk space while the Gigabit Ethernet and wireless LAN give flexible placement. Buyers who require fax capability or higher monthly duty cycles should consider other configurations.

Fits networked offices with duplex and mobile print

The printer connects via Gigabit Ethernet, wireless LAN or direct USB, so it drops into existing LANs or stands alone for mobile users. Automatic two-sided printing frees paper tray capacity for longer runs. The reduced chassis, over 25 percent smaller than the previous generation, leaves more room on shared work surfaces. EPS-free packaging simplifies disposal after unboxing.

Questions about this item

Does the MFC-L8730CDW need a PC or mobile device to use the 3.5" touchscreen and 48 shortcuts?

No. The 3.5" colour touchscreen and up to 48 shortcuts operate directly on the printer for printing, copying and scanning without a connected computer.

Can the MFC-L8730CDW print automatically on both sides of the page like the older model it replaces?

Yes. Automatic two-sided printing is built in and set as default, so every job prints duplex without manual re-feeding.

How do I confirm the MFC-L8730CDW is printing at the rated 33 ppm and 2400x600 dpi after setup?

Print a test page from the touchscreen menu; the output will show the 2400x600 dpi resolution, and a timed multi-page job will reach up to 33 ppm for both mono and colour.
