Host-side connector and target breakout
This two-pack provides Mini-SAS SFF-8087 male connectors that attach to a RAID controller or motherboard port. Each cable splits into four SFF-8482 targets with integrated SATA power adapters for direct drive attachment.
Build integration and cabling
The 3.3 FT length suits typical chassis routing between a controller card and a backplane or drive cage. A separate SATA power lead is required for every SFF-8482 connector to supply the 15-pin power portion of the adapter.
Signal rate and power considerations
Data transfer operates at up to 6 Gbps per drive across the 36-pin interface. The cables use 30 AWG conductors for flexibility and carry no middle SAS pin, so they must not be connected to a backplane SFF-8087 port.

Questions about this item
What limits the data rate when the cable runs at full 6 Gbps per drive for hours?
Each SFF-8482 leg tops out at 6 Gbps and the 30 AWG conductors set the practical ceiling for sustained throughput.
How warm does the 3.3 ft assembly get and does it need extra cooling during all-day operation?
The thin 30 AWG wires stay at near-ambient temperature; no active cooling is required for continuous use.
Which power connectors must already be free on my PSU to run the four SFF-8482 adapters?
Four standard SATA 15-pin power plugs — one for each breakout — are needed from your power supply.
