USB 3.0 to HDMI & VGA adapter

The BUCIER CY-U3-011 adds an HDMI port and a VGA port to a laptop or desktop through a USB 3.0 connection. It supports hot-plug operation and mirroring the same image on both outputs simultaneously. The adapter is intended for users who need a second display for presentations, extended desktop work or media playback.

Check your host port and operating system

Full 1920x1080 resolution requires a USB 3.0 port; a USB 2.0 port limits output to 800x600. On macOS the driver supports only versions 10.11, 10.12, 10.13.1-3, 10.13.2 and 10.13.4-10.13.6. Windows compatibility is not detailed in the supplied data. Verify that your computer provides a free USB-A socket and that your monitor cables match the HDMI and VGA female connectors.

Thermals, noise and power draw

The adapter draws power directly from the USB bus and has no fan, so it runs silently. Its small 10.0 x 10.0 x 1.0 in enclosure and 0.05 kg weight indicate low heat output during typical office or video use. No external power supply is required.

Questions about this item

Does the BUCIER CY-U3-011 come with HDMI or VGA cables, or do I need to buy them separately?

The adapter provides HDMI and VGA female ports; you must supply your own HDMI or VGA cables to connect monitors or projectors.

Should I use the USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port on my laptop for the CY-U3-011 to get 1920x1080 resolution?

Use a USB 3.0 port to reach 1920x1080; a USB 2.0 port is limited to 800x600.

If I connect both HDMI and VGA displays at once, will I get an extended desktop or only a mirrored image?

Both outputs show the same view; the adapter mirrors the image across the two connected displays.
