Two-metre USB 3.2 Gen 2 extension

This pair of two-metre USB-C male-to-female cables extends a USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection up to 20 Gbps. Each cable carries up to 240 W of USB Power Delivery 3.1 and supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode for 4K 60 Hz video. A separate male-to-male cable is required to complete the link.

Suits users extending a single USB-C link

Buyers who need to extend one USB-C connection for data, charging or video will find the length and bandwidth adequate. Setups that require multiple simultaneous video streams, longer runs than two metres or a plug-and-play cable without an extra male-to-male lead should consider other solutions.

20 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 bandwidth

The decisive specification is the 20 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 data rate combined with 240 W PD 3.1 power and DP Alt Mode video. If the host and device both support this generation the cable will deliver full speed; if either end is limited to an earlier USB version the link will fall back to that lower rate.

Questions about this item

Does the 2-pack include a USB-C male-to-male cable for connecting the extender to my laptop?

No, the package contains two 2 m USB 3.2 Gen2 male-to-female extension cables only; a separate USB-C 3.2 male-to-male cable is required to complete the link to your computer or display.

Which length should I choose if I need to reach a monitor 2 metres away while keeping 20 Gbps speed?

The 2 m cables in this pack are rated for the full 20 Gbps data rate, so they will maintain that speed at the full 2 metre distance.

What does the 240 W rating mean when I plug this extender between my 100 W charger and laptop?

The cable supports USB PD 3.1 up to 50 V / 5 A (240 W maximum), so it will pass through the 100 W from your charger without limiting the power delivered to your laptop.
