Charge-only USB-C extension

This 25 cm cable adds a 90° bend between a USB-C host port and a USB-C device. It carries power only and is intended for laptops, phones and tablets that charge through USB-C. The right-angled plug reduces strain in tight spaces.

Buyers who need data or video

The cable does not transfer files or drive a display, so it will not work for syncing a GoPro, a digital camera or a GPS unit. Builders who need USB 2.0 or USB 3.1 data paths should choose a full-featured lead instead.

480 Mbps data limit on the Mini-B variant

The separately described Mini-B version tops out at 480 Mbps under USB 2.0 and falls back to 12 Mbps and 1.5 Mbps for older speeds. This figure confirms the extension itself is charge-only.

Questions about this item

Will the 90° USB-C male plug fit beside the HDMI port on my 2016 MacBook Pro?

The 90° right-angled connector is designed to sit flush against the side of 2016 MacBook Pro models, clearing adjacent ports such as HDMI and USB-A.

How can I confirm the cable is delivering the 480 Mbps USB 2.0 data rate to my GoPro?

Connect the GoPro to a 2015 or 2016 USB-C laptop; the device should mount as a mass-storage drive and transfer files at up to 480 Mbps, matching the USB 2.0 specification.

Does the 25 cm cable include a Mini-B 5-pin plug or do I need a separate adapter?

The cable integrates a Mini-B 5-pin male connector on the device end, so no extra adapter is required for GoPro, GPS or digital-camera connections.
