Limits of the USB4 Gen 3x2 interface

The 40 Gbps data rate and 8K 60 Hz video output require both host and peripheral to support USB4 Gen 3x2 or Thunderbolt 3. With lesser ports the cable falls back to lower speeds and resolutions. Length is fixed at 3.3 ft, so longer runs need a different solution.

The spec that decides fit

Maximum power delivery is 240 W at 48 V / 5 A under PD 3.1 Extended Power Range. If your laptop or dock only accepts 100 W or 140 W, the cable will still work but cannot exceed the device's own limit. Buyers who need more than 240 W or a longer cable cannot use this model.
