Copper compression lug for 4/0 AWG wire with 3/8 inch stud, purple die code 15, CSA certified and UL listed
This Burndy compression lug connects 4/0 AWG stranded copper wire to a 3/8 inch stud. The copper barrel carries a purple colour code and uses die code 15 for crimping. It is rated for up to 35 kV and a maximum operating temperature of 194 degrees F. The part is UL Listed and CSA Certified.
Electricians making a straight, one-hole connection on 4/0 AWG stranded copper will find the standard barrel and inspection hole suit the task. The lug is not designed for other wire sizes, aluminium conductors, multi-hole patterns or angled tongue orientations. Buyers needing those configurations should select a different lug.
The purple colour code and die code 15 identify the crimp tool setting required for this specific conductor size. Using the correct die ensures a secure, standards-compliant termination. Verify that your crimping tool accepts die code 15 before purchase.

The lug is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 194 °F, so sustained loads that keep the connection at or below that level are within specification.
As a passive copper connector it generates no heat of its own and draws no power; any temperature rise comes solely from the current passing through the crimped joint.
A compression tool that accepts Burndy die code 15 (purple) is required to crimp the standard-barrel lug onto 4/0 AWG stranded copper wire.
