AL Compression Terminal 3/0 AWG
This Burndy two-hole lug is a commercial-grade compression connector for aluminum or copper conductors sized at 3/0 AWG. It accepts a 1/2 inch stud on 1.75 inch centers and carries a 35 kV AC rating. The barrel uses die code 467 with a ruby color code and has no inspection hole. Maximum operating temperature is 194 degrees F.
Upgrading from single-hole or smaller lugs
A two-hole pattern on 1.75 inch centers resists rotation and distributes clamping force better than single-hole lugs. The 35 kV rating supports medium-voltage applications that lower-rated terminals cannot. The straight tongue and 1.04 inch width fit standard bus-bar spacing. The jump is worth it when vibration resistance and higher voltage clearance are required.
Suits panel builders and utility crews
Installers terminating 3/0 AWG aluminum or copper cable in medium-voltage gear will match the die code and color code directly. Buyers needing an inspection window, an angled tongue, or a different stud size should look at other lug styles. Those working with conductors larger or smaller than 3/0 AWG need a different barrel size.

Questions about this item
What stud size and hole spacing does the two-hole lug require for mounting?
The lug fits a 1/2 in stud with a 1.75 in centre-to-centre distance between the two holes.
Which crimp die should be used to install this terminal on 3/0 AWG conductor?
Use die code 467 when crimping the barrel onto the 3/0 AWG aluminum or copper conductor.
How often should the crimped connection be inspected after installation?
The terminal has no inspection hole, so plan periodic visual checks of the crimp and bolt torque rather than relying on a built-in window.
