Inline splice reducer joins 10 AWG to 250 kcmil conductors in a 4.01 in aluminium body rated 600 V and 194 °F
This Burndy inline splice reducer joins two conductors in a straight line. The aluminum body accepts stranded copper or aluminum wire from 10 AWG up to 250 kcmil. It is rated for 600 volts and a maximum operating temperature of 194 degrees Fahrenheit. The connector suits installers needing a compact, unplated transition between dissimilar wire sizes.
The two-port, in-line design keeps the splice low-profile inside conduit or junction boxes. A 5/16 inch hex head provides positive tool engagement for reliable torque. Plastisol insulation and a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating add flame resistance, while RoHS compliance confirms restricted-substance limits are met. No mounting holes are required, simplifying field installation.
The connector handles a wide cross-section range, making it suitable for service entrances, motor leads and panel rebuilds. Headroom ends at the 250 kcmil maximum; larger conductors need a different body. The 600 volt ceiling fits standard low-voltage distribution but excludes medium-voltage circuits. Installers working beyond these limits must select a higher-rated splice.

The hex head is designed for a single, secure crimp; no routine re-torquing is required once installed correctly.
The 600 V maximum is a fixed insulation limit; sustained loads must stay below this value to prevent breakdown.
The connector is rated for 194 °F maximum operating temperature, so body heat will not exceed this under rated current.
