W-style crimping die set for 4 AWG aluminum or copper connectors, compatible with MD6, MD7, PAT600, PATMD and Y500CTHS tools at 6 ton force
The Burndy W162 is a W-style crimping die set designed for electricians and utility technicians terminating 4 AWG aluminium or copper conductors. It provides the upper and lower die halves needed to create secure compression connections on compatible lugs and splices. The single-piece set is ready for immediate use on job sites or in the workshop.
These dies fit Burndy W-series crimping tools rated up to 6 ton maximum force, including the MD6, MD7, PAT600, PATMD and Y500CTHS models. The W-style mounting slides into the tool head without adapters, so changeover between sizes is quick and the dies stay aligned during the compression cycle. One die set covers the blue and orange colour-coded connector range.
The die set is rated for 4 AWG aluminium cable and matches the Burndy connector families YA-2LH, YA-A, YC-C, YCS-R, YDS-AT, YDS-F, YDS-K, YDS-KT, YE-LH, YGC, YS-A and YSS. It does not accommodate larger gauge conductors or non-W tool platforms. Buyers needing to crimp smaller or larger wire sizes, or who use non-Burndy tool systems, will require different die sets.
