A single-hole copper lug connector for 3/0 AWG wire, crimp-terminated with a tin-plated barrel rated to 600 V and 302 °F
The Burndy YAD27M20E34 is a single-hole compression lug made from electrolytic copper with a tin finish. It accepts 3/0 AWG wire and is rated for 600 V at up to 302 degrees F. The barrel measures 0.79 in long with a 0.79 in outside diameter and a brazed seam. The tongue width is 1.14 in.
This connector replaces field-assembled split-bolt joints or set-screw mechanical lugs where a permanent, low-resistance crimp is required. The jump is worth it when vibration, thermal cycling or code compliance demand a UL 467 listed compression connection that will not loosen over time. It is not suited for applications needing multi-hole mounting or insulated barrels.
Installation requires a hydraulic or battery crimper fitted with the correct Burndy die for 3/0 AWG long-barrel lugs; using the wrong die or a hand tool rated for smaller gauges produces an incomplete crimp. The bare copper barrel offers no insulation, so heat-shrink or tape must be added after crimping. The single mounting hole limits orientation flexibility on crowded bus bars.

The 1.14 in tongue width matches a 3/8 in stud; drill or punch the panel to that diameter and allow clearance for the barrel outside diameter of .79 in.
Use a Burndy 3/0 AWG die set; fully seat the wire in the .79 in barrel, then make the recommended number of compressions for a brazed long barrel — partial crimps cause high resistance.
Inspect annually for discoloration or loosening; the tin finish on copper resists oxidation up to 302 °F, so replacement is only needed if the crimp shows overheating or the barrel cracks.
