SKU CH-CTWJ-18JCC

Plays cassettes and converts tapes to MP3 directly onto a USB drive with auto-reverse and a 3.5 mm headphone jack

  • Convert tapes to MP3 directly onto a USB drive with no computer required
  • Auto-reverse, fast-forward and rewind for classic cassette playback control
  • Built-in copper-wheel movement speaker plus 3.5 mm headphone jack for private listening
  • Over-ear headphones included for immediate personal audio
  • Connect to car or external speakers via 3.5 mm AUX input

Portable Cassette Player with MP3 Conversion

The Burtowic portable cassette player combines a classic tape deck with a built-in USB converter. It plays standard cassettes using auto-reverse, fast-forward and rewind functions. Dual built-in speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack provide listening options, and over-ear headphones are included in the package.

Upgrade from Basic Playback-Only Decks

This unit replaces a simple portable player that only outputs analogue sound. The jump is worthwhile when you want to digitise a tape collection directly to a USB flash drive or a USB card reader with a memory card, without connecting to a computer or installing software. MP3 files are written straight to the USB storage during playback.

Limits of USB Direct Recording

Conversion quality depends on the cassette condition and the USB storage device you supply, neither of which are included. The player requires USB power or batteries for operation, and the 3.5mm auxiliary input only passes external audio to the speakers; it does not record from an outside source. No computer-based editing or noise reduction is available on the device itself.
